Mark Gianturco, CIO


Mark D. Gianturco is a nationally recognized technologist with over 25 years of industry experience in multiple disciplines, including technology management, software development, design, systems architecture and information technology.  He holds a BS in Computer Science from the College of William and Mary, as well as a Masters in Information Systems and a PhD in Information Technology from George Mason University.  He is a senior member in key technology groups, including the ACM, IEEE and Washington CTO Roundtable, and has earned professional accreditations in management and technology, including the PMP and MCSD certifications.

Dr. Gianturco is a regular speaker on emerging technologies including cloud computing, and serves as an adjunct faculty memeber at George Mason University, teaching master level sofware engineering.  In addition to speaking engagements, and 

being published on several software engineering topics, he is qualified as a court appointed expert in software plagiarism, computer forensics, electronic discovery issues, and software engineering.

Dr. Gianturco has held executive technology management roles at several technology corporations, where he has been instrumental in developing and then executing successful strategic technology plans.  Dr. Gianturco served for over eight years as the Chief Technology Officer for Strategic INFO, a knowledge management company providing web-based solutions to hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and other life science corporations.  In this role, Dr. Gianturco led the Software Development and IT divisions during multiple years of heavy annual growth and directed corporate technology strategy and vision.  He was also the architect for a number of core technologies at Strategic INFO.  

Other highlights of Dr. Gianturco’s career include serving as a Chief Technology Officer for two well-known electronic discovery software and solutions providers, iDS and Cricket Technologies.  As CTO at each of these companies, he was responsible for creating and building a corporate software subsidiary, and leading the architecture, design and implementation of multiple technology products within those organizations.
